Our bias, stated first

We built Pinned. A comparison written by a vendor is worth exactly as much as its willingness to lose an argument, so these pages name the things other apps do better and the people they suit more than we do. If you finish a page and install the other app, it did its job.

What we will not do is invent shortcomings. Every negative statement about another app is something observable in the app or its public listing, and anything we could not verify is left out rather than implied.

The most useful disclosure is the plainest one: Pinned's App Store listing went live on 23 July 2026 and had no ratings at all when these pages were written, while several apps here have hundreds or thousands. Every page states that, because a comparison that quietly omits its own weakest number is not one.

What actually gets compared

Features that change the daily experience, not marketing copy. The same handful of questions is asked of every app, because a comparison that changes its criteria per competitor is a sales page with a table in it.

• The App Store rating, and how many ratings produced it — shown with the date it was read, because both move.
• Price model, trial terms, and what a subscription includes.
• Minimum iOS version, which decides whether the app installs on your phone at all.
• Download size.
• What the app is built around — the one sentence that explains most of the rest.
• Then, per page, the axis that genuinely separates those two apps: pens against powder, a compound library against a bare log, an analytics layer against a plain record.

Where the facts come from, and when

Apple's public App Store listings — the metadata and each app's own description — read on the date shown on every page. That is a real limit worth stating: these pages compare what the other apps say about themselves, not what a reviewer found after a month of use. Listings also go stale, which is why the date is on the page rather than implied.

If something here is out of date or simply wrong, we would rather correct it than defend it. That includes claims made by the app we sell.

One thing we do not compare on

Several apps in this category will suggest an amount to take, or ship dosing presets. Pinned does neither, and its Terms state that it does not recommend compounds, sources, doses, or protocols.

So these pages describe that difference plainly and leave the judgement to you; they do not treat a competitor's dosing feature as a benchmark Pinned is failing to meet, and they will not answer the underlying question themselves.

FAQ

Can a comparison written by a competitor be impartial?

Not perfectly, which is why the bias is disclosed rather than hidden. The test is whether the page tells you when another app is the better choice — these do, and that is the standard to hold them to.

How current are these comparisons?

Each page states the date its facts were checked. Apps in this category update often, so treat anything older than the date shown as worth confirming in the app's own store listing.

Do you compare dose recommendation features?

We note whether an app has one, because it is a real difference. We do not rank apps by it or reproduce their suggestions, since recommending amounts is precisely what Pinned does not do.

What if an app improves after the page is written?

The page gets updated and re-dated. A comparison is a snapshot, and the honest way to run one is to keep re-taking it rather than to leave an old advantage standing.
